Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll was one of my most favourite books growing up. It still is.
At the moment, I rather feel like Alice who has decided to follow the White Rabbit down the Rabbit Hole and is heading towards Wonderland, so I just thought I would share some of the quotes from the book that resonate the most with me, today.
“Would you like an adventure now, or shall we have our tea first?”
“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, “or you wouldn’t have come here.”
“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where–” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
“–so long as I get SOMEWHERE,” Alice added as an explanation.
“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”
“It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.”
“My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that.”
Alice is the favorite book of my youth
These quotes make me want to go read the book again 🙂
